We always are of the opinion that children have a lot more to learn from the adults. but I think it is vice-versa we have to learn a quite from them. have you ever keenly observe the childrens If not..observe them I bet we will learn a lot from them ofcourse if you want to learn.

I think there are four valuable lessons you can learn

Happiness:- Have you ever noticed a child..you will definitely agree with me that they are most of the time happy. They are quite satisfied with what they have. They dont care what the people around think of them.

Busy:- I feel amazed the way the children keep themselves busy. they are always busy with this or that stuff. Its not that somebody keeps them busy but they are happy being busy.

Determination:- Children have a great skill to get what they want. They will make every effort to achieve what they desire and don't sit quiet unless and untill they have it.

Live in present:- However big the tragedy hapens aroung them, some time later they forget all that and get going forward. Its not that tragedy don't affect them but they have a great quality to forget the past and always live in present.

Think about it..feel free to comment.

Shantaram is written by Gregory David Roberts, a convicted Australian bank robber and heroin addict who escaped from Pentridge Prison and fled to India where he lived for 10 years.

Just look at an excerpt form the book...

“It took me a long time and most of the world to learn what I know about love and fate and the choices we make, but the heart of it came to me in an instant, while I was chained to a wall and being tortured. I realised, somehow, through the screaming of my mind, that even in that shackled, bloody helplessness, I was still free: free to hate the men who were torturing me, or to forgive them. It doesn’t sound like much, I know. But in the flinch and bite of the chain, when it’s all you’ve got, that freedom is an universe of possibility. And the choice you make between hating and forgiving, can become the story of your life.”

Shantaram is a novel based on the life of the author, Australian Gregory David Roberts. In 1978 Roberts was sentenced to nineteen years’ imprisonment in Australia as punishment for a series of armed robberies of building-society branches, credit unions, and shops he had committed while addicted to heroin. In July 1980 he escaped from Victoria’s maximum-security prison in broad daylight, thereby becoming one of Australia’s most wanted men for what turned out to be the next ten years.

For most of this period, after an interlude in New Zealand, he lived in Bombay. After meeting a local man named Prabaker, who later becomes his best friend, he sets up a free health clinic in the slums where he learns about the Indian culture and characteristics of the people he later comes to love. He later works for Afghani mafia don "Abdel Khader Khan" and works in black market currency exchange and passport forgery. He later goes to Afghanistan to smuggle weapons for mujahideen freedom fighters in Afghanistan, where his mentor Khan is killed. He realizes he became everything he grew to loathe and falls into a depressive state after he returns. He ends up realizing that he must fight for what he believes is right, and build an honest life in Bombay.

One of the most simple and beautiful book.

The Kite Runner tells the story of Amir, a well-to-do boy from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, who is haunted by the guilt of betraying his childhood friend Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of the monarchy in Afghanistan through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the Taliban regime.

In The Kite Runner, Amir and Hassan grow up together in Afghanistan like brothers, although they couldn't be more different. Amir is the son of a wealthy businessman, a Sunni Muslim, a Pashtun, and he's educated and reads voraciously. Hassan's father is a servant to Amir's father, and Hassan is a Sh'ia Muslim, a Hazara, he's illiterate, and he has a harelip. But neither boy has a mother and they spend their boyhoods roaming the streets of Kabul together. Amir, though, continually uses his superior position to taunt or abuse Hassan, and one day hides in fear as Hassan is beaten mercilessly by bullies. The Soviet invasion of Aghanistan sends Amir's family to the United States, but he returns there as an adult during the Taliban rule to repent for his sins to Hassan.

This is one of the unforgettable story that will remain with me even after years. It is a great book, a page turner with real life characters and situations that makes you think about friendship, good and evil, betrayal, and redemption.

To Kill a mocking bird - by Harper Lee

To Kill a Mockingbird is a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. The novel revolves around a young girl named Jean Louise Finch who goes by the nicknamed “Scout”. I found it to be an interesting and powerful book. I feel the book does a great job in portraying the extreme prejudice that existed at that time.

The “Prejudice” theme is also represented in the title of the book “To Kill A Mocking Bird.” In the novel Scout and his brother Jem Finch get air rifles for Christmas. Scouts father tells her and her brother that it is a sin to kill a mockingbird because mockingbirds are harmless creatures who do nothing but sing for our enjoyment. In the story Mr. Robinson is clearly the “Mocking Bird”. He is a good man who has never harmed anyone and is figuratively and literally shot by society because of prejudice. The jurors sentence him to death not because he did anything wrong but because of prejudice. He is then later shot for trying to escape this unjust ruling. Mr. Robinson just like a mockingbird is shot for no reason at all.

So if you are looking for a great and powerful book, just go and read it.
